Meet Natalie and Dallas....they ROCK. We met up with them in the Paseo District of OKC. It's such a cool, artsy area and this was our first session there. We loved it, and Natalie and Dallas made it easy on us as you will see. ALSO - their schnauzer, Sophie, added lots of character to the shots as well :D

Hey guys!

This is just a business update for our clients that like to keep up with all of our goings-on. We are CRRRAZY!! Currently, we are not accepting any more appointments before JULY 2008! We can’t believe it! As always, we have been so blessed with amazing clients, many of which who have turned into very good friends of ours. We’re lucky lucky girls!

With all the busy-ness we’ve experienced, we’ve upgraded equipment, attended seminars, and tried to really up our game for this year! With that being said, our print prices have increased. These prices are in-line with industry standard and we plan to keep them here and not raise them again in the near future.

Print Prices:
4x6 : $10
5x7 : $15
8x10 : $25
11x14: $55

We do ALL kinds of specialty items. Enlargements to pretty much any size you could think of, ALBUMS, cards, collages, etc etc etc!

ALSO - if you have a gallery on our kmalloryphotograhy.com website and not on Pictage, it's about to be taken down for good. You have until April 1 to make any last orders you would like and after that....it's gone :) So, get your orders in now. If you'd like to extend the life of your gallery on our all new gallery site, please email me at info@kmalloryphotography.com and I'll let you know how we are now handling that!

We are keeping our session prices the same as they’ve always been!! We are trying to get to a place where we can have just the right number of clients per year that we can serve to the absolute BEST QUALITY. We thank you guys for checking out our pictures. Meet Mr. Dillon

Jessi and I met up with Becki and her little boy Dillon....we were in for quite a workout!! I've known Becki since....well forever....and it's been such a pleasure to get to see her as a mom (there's another baby on the way...less than a month to go!), a wife and most of all a beautiful, strong woman. Mr. Dillon was shy at first, BUT he REALLY broke out of his shell, and the results were priceless.

I have to give props to Jessi on this shoot. I stole Becki away for some maternity shots and she did most of the session with Dillon. Therefore, I'm featuring her best shots below :

As I was talking to Kourtney's Mom right before they cut the cake, she shared a very touching story with me. She told me that she was talking to Kourtney about Brad and among other things...Kourtney told her "Mom, he just lets me be me." Isn't that what love is all about?

Meet Miss Megan. She wanted to go all out with her senior session this year...and that meant 6 different wardrobe changes! What I loved about Megan was the fact that with every shot I could see her confidence grow. She became more and more herself in front of the camera. We had a lot of fun, this girl has a beautiful smile and some big ole GORGEOUS blue eyes...check her out!

Kourtney + Brad : Bridal Party

....until then....enjoy some pictures of the bridal party. One of our favorite things about this wedding was the people. I've had the pleasure of knowing Kourtney and her family since birth pretty much. I knew it would be a fun day...but I didn't know how incredibly easy, fun, and smooth the day would go. Pretty much...it was a dream job!

First up, meet the maid of honor, Whitney. She's gorgeous, and we're doing her engagement session in May! She was the IDEAL maid of honor...she ran around like crazy all day helping EVERYONE. Anytime I wanted a dress, shoes or rings to take pictures of, she, her mom Shelly, and bridesmaid/sister, Brook, were right there in a snap! It was crazy! (I liked it, now if I could just convince my husband to be like that!! :) I'm kidding...hehehehe)

Strength

I've been struggling lately as to whether or not to post about something that's been going on in my personal life. A couple of weeks ago I found out that my Granny has a tumor on her liver. It's one of those moments that hits you like a brick wall...I couldn't find words to fit how I felt.

Later that afternoon, when I felt like I was "strong" enough...I called Granny B (that's what I call her) to see how she was doing. Of course, I just LOST it, BIGTIME on the phone. So, of course, my Granny is consoling ME telling ME everything is going to be ok, rather than the other way around! Comical, I know!

She says to me "Kris, I figure God knows it's there, and He'll fix it if He wants to. It's out of my control, so I'm leaving it up to Him." Pretty profound stuff. I know Granny B is going to be ok...that's some unshakeable faith she's got going on, isn't it? Talk about "strength"....she's got some "strength"....or as she says "I'm one tough old bird." :)

If you guys have a moment here or there...please say a quick prayer for my Granny.

We had a blast and narrowly escaped the rain and wind the entire time. Ok, so if you read my post from two days ago...I posted some pics of my new niece, Taylor, and said I'd punch you in the eye if you said there was a prettier baby on Earth. (kidding, of course) WELL - I had the pleasure of meeting an equally beautiful baby, Cadence Marie Early. She was born on February 15, 2008 and weighed 6lbs, 15oz.

Meet Tammy, Shawn and their absolute doll-of-a-baby-girl Faith. They were a dream to work with....this baby was so laidback and GOOD...it actually made me consider having one. For a second. I'm happy to report that urge has now passed, but still...she was an awesome baby. Oh, and she was beautiful, as you will see....

This is something a little different for me....I put a texture on her picture. I personally think it's a cool effect, but I'm interested to hear opinions on it....feel free to comment, it won't hurt my feelings :)

I know people probably get tired of hearing me say this...but sometimes as busy as I get...my life feels insane! I took some time recently to make a list of things I would like to accomplish/start/make a habit of in 2008. So, I thought as a form of accountability (for all 12 of you that read this blog... HA!) I would list what I've gotten so far here....and update occasionally.

1. Pray more
2. Relax....
3. Be a better friend. (I'm serious about this one!)
4. Attend at least 3 photography seminars this year. (2 booked so far!)
5. Increase my health...mind, body and soul.
6. Transition to a full-time photography business.
7. Become more of a "glass half full" person.
8. RELAX.....
9. Make time to volunteer more.
10. Let things go....
11. Vacation outside of the country this year! (Puerto Vallarta in June!)
12. Learn patience!!!
13. Mentor an aspiring photographer.
14. Shoot an out of state wedding. (PENDING)
15. Take some cooking classes.
16. Get in shape (and not round, either!) (Working out 3 days/week currently)
17. Venture into art photography.
18. Get out of debt!
19. Take a vacation without the laptop.
20. Revamp the flower beds at home.
21. Listen more than I talk. (tough one!)
22. Have family portraits made.
23. Finish my photography office.
24. Hire a housekeeper. (for real.)
25. Build up personal/company savings.
26. Read 1 book/month. (Currently reading : Eat Pray Love...very funny/sad/real)

That's it for right now....I'm sure there will be additional things as I continue to learn and grow and become even more insane :)

I know I'm a few days late but...Happy New Year! What a crazy year 2007 was for us....but we always enjoy a good rollercoaster, so we're not complaining :)

We've got so many cool, new things in store for you guys this year, I can hardly wait to get this year started. We're playing it cool in January, but we are officially scheduling appointments for February, March and April 2008. We have a wedding almost every weekend in May!! Yay!

At this time of year it's so easy to get caught up in how much there is to do, the shopping, the decorations, and in our case, photography and Christmas cards! So to all of our blog-readers and clients, please accept this as my official apology. I'd like to take a minute to thank a lot of people for a lot of things.

First...my husband for putting up with me. I work all day and then work some more when I get home. I know that he's probably sick of me sitting in front of the laptop! Thanks for hanging in there babe :)

Second, JESSI!! Seriously you guys, I could not have a better business partner. Besides being outrageously talented herself, she keeps me going and knows just when to say something to get a giggle out me. Makes everything seem NOT SO BAD! I love her!

Lauren + Todd : Engagement Session #2

A lot of our couples have liked the idea of doing one session in the downtown OKC area and a second session in a more grassy, natural-type atmosphere. Check out Lauren and Todd below. We did their first session at various spots on Western Avenue. This session was done in a field in Mustang. We took my husband's old couch from college and put it to pretty cool use! Yes...it's another engagement session!!! We love our couples!! Check out Tommy and Vanessa...they are such a sweet couple. We have enjoyed working with them so much! They are getting married in BARBADOS next year. Jessi and I have really been looking forward to shooting Lauren and Todd...they wanted some super-creative engagement pictures, so we went new places and did some new things....they were so great and fun! Look for their second engagement session blog in a couple of weeks :)

We started at Guestroom Records on Western Ave and 36th street....it was a pretty cool little store!

We then went right down Western to the Quick Clean Laundromat!!

Then on to the Atomic Brown Scooter shop....the owners were so cool to us and let us play around on their killer scooters!

Soldier + Mom + Kiddos : WHAT A FAMILY!

Jessi and I had a truly exceptional family session earlier this week. We had the pleasure of photographing Robbie, Brandy, Kenzie and little Robbie. Robbie at one time was in the Marines, is now in the National Guard, and will be leaving for training in El Paso, TX, this week. After Christmas, he will be headed to Iraq. Capturing this moment with him and his family was quite a privilege. I felt so overwhelmed with gratitude and respect.....I think I can speak for Jessi when I say that we were so honored to do this for this family.

Just as an FYI to all of you blog-readers out there....for ALL of our soldiers currently serving as well as for our veterans...we show our small thanks to you by waving our session fees. It's the least we could do for the people that give their lives so that we can do what we wish with ours.

I got to do my very first maternity shoot a couple of weeks ago!! I have to admit I was somewhat nervous/skeptical of what the results might be, but I really really enjoyed it and I'm already wanting to do more maternity stuff.....it was very laidback. What a trip : NYC

I have to say, I had one of the greatest times ever in NYC! It never ceases to amaze me the places, colors and people you come across. It was truly a trip I won't soon forget. Check out the highlights!

What a fun session I had last night! I met up with a two of my very good friends from high school and their two rockstar kids: Adisyn & Aiden. We had a blast! (Well except for the little accident we had at the sno-cone stand....sorry Nick!)

Dillon + Heather : Engagement

I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session Saturday night for Dillon and Heather. I went to college with Dillon. I jokingly told him that he still owed me thousands of dollars in tuition for helping him get through all of those accounting classes!!

Here's what I love about these two: they are so real and funny. There was no lovey-dovey act, they were just how they truly are, and I really enjoyed it. Here are a few examples of what I'm talking about: He calls her "muffin" and she rolls her eyes. There were several times I would hear her shrieking "Dillon!!!" from him grabbing her inappropriately....it was hilarious!

I can't wait for their beautiful wedding in October. They are going to have a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Francis in OKC. From what I've seen and heard, this church is GORGEOUS!

The Big Day: Hise Wedding

What a day. I've been looking forward to doing these wedding pictures for some time now, and it was everything I wanted it to be.

The bride was B-E-A-Utiful, the groom was his usual goofy self....and the families were.....not really wanting to be taking pictures in the heat. Just kidding. The families were a delight, and I was honored to be a part of the occasion.

Jessi and I went through the pictures today....650 of them!!! It was great, and I hope that Nick, Devyon and their families and friends enjoy them as much as we did. Here are a few of my personal favorites, there will be more to come this week....this is definitely a multi-blog wedding :)

There's No Place Like Home

This last year I have gained some much-needed perspective on a few things. I think that I became very desensitized to all the deaths in Iraq. I would read a story, or hear on the news that soldiers were dying every day, but it never really hit home.

That is, not until someone from my family ended up being deployed. My brother-in-law Jason Mallory has been in Iraq for 6 months or so, and there isn't a day that goes by, a news story that I hear, and article that I read that I don't think about him and the rest of the soldiers over there. I can't explain with words the amount of respect that I have for these people.

Regardless of my personal feelings about the war itself, I was forced to remember that each one of the soldiers over there are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters.

We were so fortunate to get to spend some time with Jason a month or so ago...and he even begrudgingly let his dorky sister in law take some pictures ;) I was talking to him about everything...asking him questions about what it's like there and he says to me "Sis, it's just my job." Pretty profound.

So this is dedicated to Jason and all of the rest of you over there "just doing your job" as Jason put it. Love you J!

The Eyes Have It

I'm guess I'm one of those people that believe you can tell a lot about a person through their eyes. One of the reasons I love shooting kids is that their eyes still have that playful innocence that we as adults tend to lose. Every time I do a shoot involving kids, I am absolutely exhausted afterward. Kids want to play, not take pictures!! But, they are the most rewarding to shoot, because when you get a good shot, it's really them...not a fake-smile, posed version of them.

These photos are a few of my favorites I've done recently. Whether it be happiness, poutiness, or mischief...their eyes say it all!
